Triage Appointment

Before we begin, we will need to understand what assessment may be needed and, if indeed, we can help you.  This appointment will be up to 55 minutes.  Our practice specialises in ADHD, ADD and ASD, if we are unable to help you it is possible we can signpost you to a more appropriate service or clinician.  This can be an in-person consultation or remote via video call.

Assessment appointments

These can take up to two hours and include pre psychometric testing through questionnaires, follow up may be needed and a detailed diagnostic report will be provided.  Patients are seen in person or remotely for full clinical assessment and evaluation.  The initial assessment is best carried out in person; however, we will assess what communication is best for you at your Triage Appointment.

What to Expect

ADHD assessments 

A clinical assessment carried out by our psychiatrists will focus on medical history, diagnostic tools and next steps for you.  It may indicate the number of review appointments that may be needed, and we liaise with your GP after this stage if you wish us to do so.

ASD assessments

The assessment of ASD focuses on a detailed developmental history, obtaining collateral histories and a structured ADOS assessment. These assessments are completed by our multidisciplinary team comprising of Doctors, Psychologists and Nurse Specialists. This assessment can be completed over the course of a number of consultations.

Full ADHD & ASD assessment

This assessment will provide a full picture, from family and educators, a developmental history, a Qb Check (where appropriate), an multidisciplinary structured ADOS assessment carried out by both Dr Thompson and Clinical Psychologist or his team, including a Specialist Mental Health Nurse Assessor and follow up appointments to widen your understanding.

Psychiatrist time:
Consultation only (60 minutes) £950
Medication Review only (30 minutes) £600

Full assessment and review usually over one to six months:
ADHD assessment (in-person or remote) £2560
ASD assessment (in-person) £3490
Combined ASD & ADHD assessment (in-person) £5100

NOTE: For adolescent cases, prices are subject to initial evaluation.
